Default 1997 s90 won't crank at all

I own a body shop in Texas. I have had a 1997 s90 in here for about 7 weeks. Last week, nothing works. No dash lights no click at the starter.
There is some noise at the rear under the car when I turn the key ON.
Horn does not work. I am waiting for two light sockets, one in the right front side light and one right rear tail light socket.
I replaced the battery this morning but still nothing works.
Also, for some reason, the driver door no longer opens. The door handle seems
to have broken or the linkage fell off. We will have to fix this today.
I have no remote for the car.

Sounds like you have a bad ignition. Make sure the car is in park as well, really in park. No idea about the door. They all unlock with the key on either door.

Thanks for the info.
When you say ignition problem do you mean the ignition switch in the
steering column or does volvo have some other ignition system.
I have noticed that the ignition relay in the fuse box does click when
I turn the key on. I also tested all the fuses and none of the lamp
fuses have power but, all the rest of them do.

Might be the electrical part of the ignition switch.

On the door does it open from the inside?
If so the outer door handle is broke at the linkage.
You will need a new door handle but the guts can be swapped to the old handle so the new handle does not have to be painted.

Thanks, both of you. The 'NO cranking issue' turned out to be the Ignition fuse in the driver side dash beside the door.
We are looking into the problem with the driver side door. I suspect you are right, the linkage broke or came off.

Default won't crank

The door handler did break inside. It is the plastic piece with a metal inside. The handler should come in today. We will swap out the insides
and deliver the car to the customer by tomorrow morining.
Thanks all of you for your advise.
