hello all i bought a new 850 turbo engine and installed it and i idled the enginefor alittle over 2 minutes what seemed like an eternity and still no oil pressure. the engine builder said its not getting its prime and it should , some take more time. after all the money and time i have invested i am not willing to gamble and wait. he also did say to get a preoiler kit, i primed the oil filter twice , what can i do?

 

you shouldn't have to do any of that. 2 minutes w/o oil pressure is bad. something is wrong.

I have had cars sit for 2 weeks with no oil pans on and install the oil pan and pull the fuse for the ECU and crank the motor for about 40 seconds and have oil pressure already.

Something is really wrong.

 

- Faulty oil pump
- Inferior/clogged oil filter
- Insufficient oil supply
- Blocked oil passage
- Internal leak

Do not start the engine until the problem has been corrected.
