2000 S40 With Intermittent start problem
I have a 2000 S40 that sometimes will not start. It doesn't do it all the time but when it happens you have to wait about 20 minutes and it starts right up.
When you turn the key to the start position the dash lights come on and you can hear the fuel pump running but it doesn't turn over. There is not a clicking sound and the starter has recently been replaced. I've tried pushing the brakes.... turning the wheel..... moving the shifter. Sometimes this makes it start but most often it does not.
Its been suggested that it has something to do with the security system. Has anyone else had this problem???
Besides when this happens every once in a while my car runs great.
