2004 S60 engine dies upon acceleration
My 04 S60 has about 164K miles on it, and I'm having trouble with the engine dying upon acceleration and I am unable to start it on an incline. It sputters and dies. Unfortunately there are no volvo specific mechanics in my town. They may say they can work on a volvo but I always end up returning with the problem unfixed. Last week the mechanic had it for 2.5 days, replaced an air vac and spark plugs but the car is still dying. Any ideas?
Is there enough gas in the fuel tank? The gas gauge is usually a little inaccurate.
The fuel pressure sensor is know to be problematic on these vehicles. It causes sputtering under acceleration.
I would also check the fuel pump.

There is almost a full tank of gas. Thank you for the info. Taking it back in to the mechanic this morning and will make those suggestions.
They are replacing the fuel pressure sensor today. Thank you for the information!
