Default 2004 V50 Cambelt Change

Hi there people,

I recently purchased a Volvo V50 SE T5 registered in 2004. I was just wondering if anyone knew when i should get the cambelt changed on this particular model. I only had the service printput and not the actual service book so i have no idea when it is needed to be done.

The car has done 75'000 miles at the moment and don't want to have it pack in on me because of the cambelt.

If anyone moew clued up could help me i would be very grateful.

Cheers,

Lee

Take a good look at the belt. If there is any evidence of cracking as it wraps around the camgear, change it. If in doubt, replace it. If you got a good deal on the car, it may because the PO was facing a timing belt repair bill and decided to sell it rather than pay up.

I still have yet to do one on the new body style S40/V50.
