2007 Volvo S-80 Ignition Key will not stay in
My rectangular 2007 s80 ignition key will not stay in. It pops back out when I insert it. The battery is drained. Is this the probable cause? If I get a new battery will the key go/stay in? Appreciate anyone's thoughts.
Hi the following information may help for you....
The connector between the antenna ring and the wiring harness sometimes causes problems taking it off, spraying it with contact cleaner, and re-seating it fixes these. It could be that the vibrations from hitting the key were enough to overcome the resistance and allow the key to be recognized and the car started.

Thanks for the feed back. I found out if the battery is drained the ignition key will not stay in as it needs an electrical charge. Charging the battery solved this issue.
