2016 V60 headlight issues
Hi all, I posted this a while back in the v60 sub-forum, but didn't get any replies, so thought I might try again here. We purchased a 2016 certified pre-owned V60 last December. It came with the halogen lights. After seeing that the headlamp assemblies are modular, I mistakenly thought I could just buy some of the factory xenon assemblies on EBay and swap them out, which I did. The xenon units are complete and have ballasts, but when I swapped them out and plugged them up, I got an error on the display and the headlamps showed red on the display. I called my dealer asking if there was any way to swap these out, and he said he didn't think so. Has anyone been able to swap these out successfully, and if so, how did you do it?
I really didn't want to go the aftermarket bulb and canbus adapter route, but it is looking like that might be my only option at this point and just re-list these factory headlamps on EBay and move on. Any help would be appreciated.
