Default 30 day warranty in canada

Hello all.
I am brand new to the forum. Hello from Canada.
I am wondering if any of you can offer some advice.
I have just purchased a 2004 S60 T5. I love the car but I have some concerns.
I purchased it from a used car dealer and included with the purchase was a 30 day warranty on saftey items.
I am currently having problems with my power steering (tight steering, suspected rack problem). My mechanic has also suggested that I have a bad bearing on one or more of the wheels. Finally, I am hearing loud squeaking from brakes when I use them.
I am wondering if anyone knows what the parameters are for a warranty that specifically covers safety items and nothing else. What is my recourse if the dealer refuses to fix the items properly. He uses his own mechanic and the warranty states that the coverage is by his business. I don't trust his mechanic as he issued a safety pass for the vehicle and missed these important issues.
Thanks in advance.
