91 240 sedan radio issues
Longtime viewer, first time poster. What I have is a 1991 volvo 240 sedan with what looks to be a power antenna. It's got the mast that extends out of the trunk, it's got the coax connector, and just off the side of it, there is a small connector hanging by where I would assume the motor would be.
I ordered a replacement mast from iPd a few months back, (since one of my less than smart friends bent the old one on the car to hell and back) and can only surmise that the one they sent me is for a station wagon, since the one in the car doesn't have the white gear tooth rope that connects to the mast like the one iPd sent has.
My question is- does anyone have a good source for where to get the mast/motor assembly? I'd like to get either new parts or a good used one, but since these cars are pretty rare to find in salvage yards I'm largely confined to online retailers.
The other option, if anyone has done this before, would be to put a fixed antenna on the car in the same location. I'd like to be able to listen to the radio plus have the back end of the car not look like crap because of a snapped off power antenna.
I previously had a 740 wagon that I had to replace the mast on, so it's not quite my first rodeo with how strange these old volvos can be. Any help is appreciated
