When I push my start button I get the following message - “press and hold start button until engine starts”. The car never starts. I’ve checked my battery and appears to be fine. I have gotten this message in the recent past and after several tries the car would finally start but no longer.

I’ve searched all over for this message on Volvo sites and there is little to no mention of it.

 

How old is your battery? If it's the original one I would replace it. (it could be eight years old)
