I am having trouble with the local Volvo dealer who does not know what part to order for my car!!!??? It may be called the pcv hose? It comes off the top of the exh mani on pass side and goes under eng towards drivers' side and I think connects to the egr system? They even sent a tech out to the car who is the one who ordered the part and when it came in, my friend picked it up for me because my car was in need of alt belt so it wasn't drivable. When the person showed up with the tube, I knew immed it was not a part of my car! Now they want me to drive all the way back so they can take a look at eng. I emailed them pix with my finger on the one showing the wrong tube that is on my eng that is not factory bent so it is collapsed. Help me please!!!!

 

That picture with your finger on the part would be pretty valuable here too.
So would be more complete information on your vehicle like year ...
Is the engine a B230ET, what is the part number of the "hose" you have that's wrong ?? Any chance they sold you a #1346850 ??

 

I was able to get help from the schematics a former mechanic brought up for me. It's just called a hose and runs from the top of the intake manifold down under front of engine and into the egr system. Apparently some of the hoses do not have special names. Thank you and it is a 95 940. I do have another problem: when it shuts off, there is a bad gas smell along the drivers' side closer to the rear. I had the mechanic change the fuel filter but that wasn't leaking. I suspect there is a leaky fuel line? Is there anything back there besides the fuel line that could be faulty? Also, is this a common thing? Thanks.
