95 850 non-turbo,no crank/no start
Hi Folks! I have a no crank situation. The day before this problem I started the car and the ABS light lit which I didn't notice until I went to shift into reverse, (Automatic trans). I wiggled the ignition switch, the ABS light went out and had no problems with starts, (8), and stops the rest of the day, driving approx 300 miles. Following day I had no crank on the starter. I assumed (bad word!) that I had a ignition switch problem and dove into the steering column and I couldn't find any problems. It was then that I noticed the Alarm system warning light on the top of the dash wasn't flashing when I locked up the car. I went into the fuse/ relay box and found that the relay for the alarm was clicking loudly. I went to the local parts store and ordered a OEM relay . recieved it today and it's still a no go. My problem is that I'm 800 miles away from my home and testing equipment and have just the basic of tools to get things done. I'm in a military town and the local techs are not the most reliable for miles around. I'm tempted to crawl under and remove the starter but I don't even hear a click out of it when the key is turned so I don't believe that it is the problem. Battery is good.
I would appreciate any tips into what this problem could be if you have experienced it. Thanks
