Refrigerant ? New to Volvo .. Do you add

Is the clutch engaging? Do not add refrigerant until high and low pressure lines are checked. A/C r.elay may be the problem. JMHO

 

I’m the 3rd owner of a great 2010 XC90, w/low mileage. In 2022, I noticed the Control Module AUTO button sticks off & on. Most of the time, the AC won’t blow cold air if it’s above 75 degrees. Mixed opinions from my 2 Volvo mechanics: replace the AC compressor or control module. Just changed the Serpentine belt & cabin filter. Comments & suggestions are much needed as I cannot replace both! 😊.

 

What engine?

The 3.2 compressors have a variable displacement valve that can go bad and cause your symptoms. (ac not cold when it is supposed to be, that is with power to the ac clutch)
