Default Alarm problems

I have a volvo v70 Sports and the alarm kept going off randomly. I have disabled this and looked at the battery, which seems fine. Last night my lights flashed on my car, no alarm as I have disabled it for now. Any ideas as to what the problem could be?

I wonder if you have resolved this problem? I have a similar one on my 2002, V70 station wagon. The alarm goes off for no reason and drains the battery, even removing the fuse that stops the alarm, the lights still flash. I have tried in vain to find out how to disable it completely.

A common problem is the backup battery goes bad (after xx years) and leaks onto the circuit board in the alarm module. A replacement (with a good battery) or disconnection solves the problem. The alarm module is located in the right upper fender well.

Thank you. Removing and/or replacing the module is a bit beyond my capabilities, will removing the main fuse (from under the dash) solve the problem?

Maybe - fuse 38 on the end of the dash - but you will still get an alarm service needed message every time you start the car. Note there is a bus wire from the Siren module to the sunroof and upper electrical module. Sometimes a bad siren module will affect those other module and the sunroof not longer works and or the remotes no longer work.

Have you tried simply unplugging the siren module? (at the module where it is installed under the rf fender, and your car is a 01-07 svxc60/70) Note in the wiring diagram above power from fuse 38 is one of 3 wires going to the siren module - a bus wire and ground are the other 2.

Or allegedly (I've never tried this) a software download using a VIDA subscription can possibly remove the alarm function.
