All info about Volvo is appreciated
Hey guys and girls have some questions about Volvos that I can't seem to find out. Short history here, I work on all makes and models on cars but more european cars (especially Audi and VW) than anything. So I'm knowledgeable about Volvos and other european cars. I have just purchased a 2007 S60 R and there are some things I would like to know about it. I have the factory VIDA and DICE software and hardware and still can't seem to find the info.
What is the difference in all the T5s and T6s and what is so special about the R engine? Someone told me that the R engines have high pressure turbos but can't verify that. Is there any special meaning to the engine codes? I know mine ends with a T4 but don't know if I have a T4 (which I've never heard of) and what the T stands for. Can't be simple as turbo because you can't hardly find a Volvo that's not a turbo and not all of them are labeled. What is the factory boost in a R series vs others?
If all of this has been posted before I apologize I am new and did do some searching and didn't really find what I was looking for.

You can find most information about Volvo's here: http://www.volvocars.com/us/top/comm...yourvolvo.aspx and yes the T does stand for Turbo.
Looking here: https://www.customers.volvocars.com/...0/07s60_10.htm the T4 appears to be the R model, or high pressure turbo. The R models usually have a different tuned ecu and maybe some other features. They started the R series back in '96, R stood for Racing.
They really do try to keep it simple.

Volvo's possible 1st R was the 242 R Sport. The R stood for Ralley: https://www.customers.volvocars.com/...ases/79_1.html
Here is the T-5R page: https://www.customers.volvocars.com/...release_6.html

It's more about trying to gain knowledge, not if the information is useful. This info I am asking about isn't required to fix a car I am just interested in learning more. If you are so knowledgeable with this software why not just tell me. There is tons of info on that DVD and it's not geared tward the history of Volvo just what it takes to repair one.
