Any one have issues with FCP?
I just purchased our 2nd Volvo, a used 08 s40 with 97k miles. The first Volvo I purchased is an 09 s80. I ask about FCP because I placed an order with them due to their support of this forum. I placed an order 2 weeks ago and received half my order several days later. I called about the remaining and have been in contact with them about this for the past week. Finally they told me they were sending the order and that UPS lost the second box. Not having any previous contact with FCP I would like to take them at face value even though it took a week for them to figure this out. They seemed nice enough through emails, but I never received a phone call or an apology. I had to make all the calls after several emails.
I know everyone has a bad day from time to time but my car has been sitting for 6 days now disassembled because when I called on April 1st I was told that items were dropped shipped and I should get them on Monday. They were not dropped shipped obviously. Maybe the joke was on me for April first.

Yea, I never do business on April Fools Day. Just not worth the risk. All kidding aside, I have ordered from FCP several time and have had nothing but awsome results. I order a motor mount from them 3 days before Christmas and got it the day before Christmas. I wanted to give the car back to my daughter during her Christmas visit so I was thrilled. Felt like their service was actually a present.
Give them another shot without hesitation. If they foul up again take your business elsewhere. BTW, I really DO NOT LIKE UPS.

+1 x 100. FCP has always come through for me. Sure, I've had a few issues over the years but they've always made it right. Back in the day, Nick Bauer always answered the phone, always knew exactly what part you were talking about. I mentioned wanting to do away w/ the Nivomats on my 84 760 and he just rattled off everything I would need for the swap. FCP has gotten much, much larger...Nick is the de facto owner (his folks handed him the ball and he ran w/ it!) and doesn't answer the phone any more. The people who work the phone these days are not nearly as knowledgeable but every bit as pleasant and enthusiastic. Errors do happen, parts will occasionally be defective and stuff does get lost. Drop shipping is wonderful for a seller when it works; they take your money, make a little and never have to keep the product in inventory or pack/ship it. When their supplier drops the ball...it can be downright horrible. Sounds to me as if your first experience could definitely have been better. On your next order, phone it in rather than order online...remind them of your poor experience and I bet they sweeten the deal!
They picked the shipper. I'm leaning towards one of those stars were misaligned due to solar flares yada yada mistakes that happens once every 10 years. I just wanted to double check.
Thanks for the reply.
