Belt and suspenders
When I bought my 2015.5 V60, my initial impulse was to discard my outboard Garmin GPS. After more than a year and a half of ownership, I'm glad I didn't. I don't know where Volvo gets the database for the Sensus system but my experience suggests that it is not as good as the Garmin. I have noted many cases where, although both systems find the destination and provide a route, the Garmin better reflects the route that someone with good knowledge of the area would suggest. At other times (and I encountered one such instance today) the Sensus cannot find a location that the Garmin found without a problem. This involved a location that was little more than a local name, not an organized municipality. The Sensus found the name but would not accept any input for street or number. Using a trick that is sometimes successful, as a city/town name I used a nearby larger "real" town - OK so far, added the street name but the number input was restricted to a range that did not include the one I needed. The Garmin guided me there with no problem. Based on my experience, I'd give the Sessus a C+ or maybe a B-. My Garmin, in its little bag, fits conveniently in the otherwise useless space behind the center stack. I'll keep it there.
