Default Blower motor/resistor

Had strange on/off/speed issues with my vent blower on my '05 S80. Finally removed it. Motor seems to work fine when hooked up directly to 12 volts DC, the brushes and rotor look OK (what I can see of them). So I ordered only a new resistor from FCP. While I'm waiting I thought maybe I could grease the motor bearings and extend the life out of that 370 dollar puppy. Can't find anything online about that so I'm hoping someone has done it.

BTW - what is online seems to indicate that removing the screws is much more difficult than it is - 15 minutes from knees to the ground to the last screw. However, no one mentions that it takes more time to rotate, twist, pry, pray, an so on to get it past the lower edge of the dash that holds the glove box in. I think I see why Volvo charges you to remove the dash (or at least loosen it). Looking forward to getting it back in.

No need to grease. It's a sealed unit.
Who's charging $370 for a new blower? Rock Auto has them from $77 to $187.
