Default Installing Blower Motor - and Resistor Question

Hey everyone,

After reading through the tons of threads regarding blower motors & resistors going bad ( I have a '93 GLT w/ ECC with the blinking REC/AC orange lights), I have another question regarding getting this car to finally work right.

I installed the new blower motor, and putting in the new blower motor seemed odd; the prongs on the new blower motor need to go into the female prongs in the black plastic housing, but how? I thought the only way was to brake the plastic off around the prongs, and then just get the two to connect. Seems like it should work fine. (so I did this..)

Still, no air coming through the vents, so I'm assuming the resistor is bad also.

I found this one on ebay, and can't figure out if this will work..

Thanks for your helP!

Groton only has one listed on their website so I guess it is the same across all years.

Looking at eEuroparts, the part number for the '93 850 is 9144354 and for the '96 850R as listed on eBay is 9134932. The pictures do look very similar but the part numbers are different. I wouldn't risk the $12 (assuming there aren't any other bids), but that's up to you. For the record, here's the part on eEuroparts ($129.90, a lot more than the used one on eBay): http://www.eeuroparts.com/productdet...&code=7671

9144354 is what is listed on groton.

and looking in VADIS it has them both listed based off of chassis numbers.

Meh... you could argue it either way.

I'm a fan of new OEM parts for most things just because then I know exactly what I'm getting. I'm also no wiz with electronics so I tend to stick with I have unless someone can verify for me that it really doesn't matter.
