Default Bonnet won't open

Hi im wondering if anyone can help me I've just had a new engine put in my 1999 volvo v70 xc now when I pop the bonnet only the drivers side unlocks and the passenger side wont unlock can anyone tell me how to fix this problem please 🙏

Sometimes you have to pull the lever to open the bonnet a little more. I found that if you don't pull it all the way, it will only unlock one side. If that doesn't fix it, if it got disconnected during the engine swap, maybe it didn't get reconnected properly.

I am very very good at adjusting, and I have not really been able to correct this once it starts. FWIW. And I've tried. If the hood doesn't physically move, then it'll relock and this is well and proper. The hood must move. I suppose that the grease inside the latches is just getting stiff. This is easily corrected by getting a helper to just simply move the hood (which should be extremely easy) when the lever is pulled.

Obviously, if you unhooked the cable on one side, you gotta connect that. You should see that coming a mile away. If you absolutely cannot open it, you might have to break out the parking light on that side to trip it.
