Our rear hatch has been acting up over the last couple of weeks, it sometimes won't open and sometimes it won't close. Doing either of those manually works. Today when we left it opened/closed just fine, then next stop it opened but won't close and now it won't latch. We can't lock the doors with the key-fob either. Any ideas?

 

Take the plastic cover off the latch. There is a little Round slide that is catching on the edge of the Curved part of the slide. If there do not seem to be any broken springs or pieces, Put some grease or fluid film along the slide. DO NOT use solvent based Such as wd40. Then spray a little fluid film up inside the catching mechanism. Take a small screw driver and lightly push the catch up to the left spreading the lubricant around. Voila!
