Buying preowned so which one??
Hi everyone. Back after a few years--had a 98 xc70 awd and took it up to 196k miles before trading it for a newer Subaru.
Looking to buy an older (under $6000) Volvo with 7 passenger seating, so an xc70 or xc90. After researching it seems the older T6 had issues.
Please share your observations/opinions. I want something that will be most likely reliable--no guarantees I understand but some years/models fare better than others. Please educate me.
Thanks!!

13 views and no replies?? LOL. Don't be bashful about sharing opinion please--I know it's a little subjective for everyone personally but that's ok. Just looking for feedback on XC 70 and XC 90, especially that have logged higher mileage. Is it reasonable to expect engine/drivetrain to make 250k plus miles? Issues with ECMs and electrical? Reliability with other bits and pieces? etc.. Thanks!!
Yeah, the T6 sucks. Avoid it.
The 2.5T in either the XC90 or XC70 is reliable.
Angle gear tends to leak.
Occasional AWD issues with AOC pump.
Regular wear and tear.
I've never had to replace an ECM.
Do some digging, the question gets asked pretty often. Higher mileage is really more about the previous owner. I've seen cars that are totally trashed by 90,000 miles because the owner didn't want to maintain it. I've seen others with over 300,000 that are very clean because it was properly maintained.

Thanks!! Know that service records and appearance are strong indicators. I've looked through threads here and on line and not as much info/opinion as I thought. More observations would be appreciated--specific to xc70 and xc90 from 01-present. Thanks!!
