I am located in Nova Scotia Canada and I have been looking for a source to purchase the recommended oil for my XC40. Castro Edge seems to come in many different subtitles such as Extended Performance, Professional, etc. Volvo is specific in that the recommend Castro Edge Professional VCC RBSO-2AE 0W20. This specific oil is hard to find. Are the other synthetic types of 0W-20 ok to use

 

what year is your XC40? I did a quick read of the 2018 owners manual and it states "Fully synthetic engine oil of at least ACEA A5/B5 must be used." There are also several different oil weights suggested based on driving conditions (0-30, 5-30 and 0-20. "Extreme driving conditions Volvo's VCC RBS0-2AE/SAE 0W20 oil is recommended for extreme conditions." Several brands offer a product that meets this spec.
