Correct TS for 91 91 2.4 240
Hi, my 240 wagon is having idle issues. I have searched this forum but feel I need to lay out the problem and see what you all have to say.
91 240 5 speed wagon
Just tuned up, new IAC, new engine temp sensor, no vacuum leaks, intake and exhaust gaskets replaced
The problem is the idle will change and can't seem to decide where it should be. I will be out and about, I come to a stop, depress the clutch and sometimes the idle is 700-800 for a few stops but then it will start idling at a lower or higher speed at subsequent stops. It will go from 700-800, down to 500-600, then the next stop it's 1700-2000. Sometimes it's up to 2300 and it will correct after a few stops and go back down to an acceptable range.
My mechanic is wondering if it has the wrong Throttle Switch on it. He's thinking someone put the sensor type on and it's freaking the computer out.
When we try to find the right part we keep getting Throttle Position Sensors being shown and told they are an exact fit.
From what I've managed to discern on this forum it seems the 2.4 engine uses a switch and does not use the potentiometer type, is that correct?
Does anyone here know how to get the correct part for this car? Thanks so much
