CPO = worst warranty in the business
I have owned 4 Volvos and love the cars. One saved my life this month. It was totaled by a young driver who ran a blinking red light. The car was deemed a total loss. I walked away with just a minor concussion that left me addled. But the safety ratings are all true. Phenomenal car.
Can't say the same for the CPO warranty, unfortunately.
I purchased this s60 with 28k on the ODO in March. CPO was $1300 on top of the purchase price with 2.5 years running.
My insurance company advised me that warranties are paid out on a pro-rated basis in the event a car is totaled.
I had owned the car 8 months. So I called the dealer and Volvo USA to secure my pro-rated compensation.
Reply from Volvo was that any third party warranty would result in a pro-rated compensation. Not Volvo. Zero.
So if your car is deemed a total loss -- so is the value of your CPO. Just so you know.
