Cutting rear springs to lower car ?

Cutting rear springs to lower car ?
2003, C70 convert. Can I just cut my rear springs to get the rear lower ? Right now the left rear is 1 inch higher than the right with new shocks installed. The 1 inch was there before I installed new shocks ?
