cutting springs
A lot of people cut springs. Most people take 2-3 coils off on the 240s and they say that it rides very similar to IPD sport springs.
Just make sure the springs can still line up on the strut or you will have some trouble down the road.

I have cut springs in other cars before. Aside from just cutting them some car springsare beveled to fit into the donut in either the top or the bottom. You should have a grinder handy to bevel them so they sit properly. I learned from experience
I don't understand why people think cutting springs is a good idea anymore. I know a lot of people do it but....i just don't get it. OEM spring rates aren't linear like they used to be back in the day. You could cut a coil or two out and still have the same rate....just not as much travel. But springs these days are progressive. If you cut coils out of a progressive spring you loose the most valuable part of the spring. The end coils of a progressive spring is what keeps your body roll down. Sure your center of gravity will be lower...that'll compensate a bit. But your going to have a very bouncy ride on the straights.
Who am I thought right? Just an opinion. What ever you do....don't forget to upgrade your shocks and struts. OEM suspention isn't made to lower...you'll blow it out.
