Does anyone know if a Volvo 2001 5 cylinder Turbo has CVVT on both Intake and Exhaust Cams?

 

The 01 turbo should only have an exhaust VVT.

 

That is what I thought, but someone told be it had both intake and exhaust, so trying to verify. Thank you.

 

I believe the dual VVT did not come out till 2003 or 2004 model year.

 

On the Volvo 2002 6 cylinder turbo had dual CVVT's on the Intake and Exhaust. That I know for sure. Volvo seems to always be one step ahead in the concepts engineering and in Safety. Usually Turbos have them on exhaust, and naturally aspirated have them on the intake.

 

That might be a late production 02. I know they did not come to later. Plus we have like way to many early volvo's around here in S80's. I see atleast 8 to 10 99-02 S80's a week at my shop.

It is like you stated above the turbo has it on the exhaust. The Non turbo has it on the intake side. That much I do know.
