Engine will start but idle cycles up and down with no motion of the pedal. When held to the floor it will go about 1200 rpm. It has no power. If put in gear it will stall. It is very hard to move even on the level. I have replaced the mass air flow component. Anyone with some magic would be greatly appreciated.

ETM's are common on this model - should have some DTC's stored

The only code I have had was for a intake air leak but it ran fine. Thanks to all for the direction. I will update when possible.

Had an similar problem with an S70. Had worked on the car about a week before and it was driving well. All of a sudden it started doing the same thing. Nightmare getting home, 10 blocks. Found a loose hose clamp on a turbo hose - tightened it and all was good, except for clearing the damn code.

many Autozones will scan codes for free and clear if you ask. If you have your VIN handy and they will map codes to probable replacement part #s too (buying them is always optional )
