Default Defroster Failure

Front window defroster on 1999 XC70 is barely working. Air blows hot through defrost vents and there is no evidence of heater core leak. AC charge tests normal and window is very clean on the inside. The defroster just seems ineffective. Any suggestions or relevant experience.

Thanks,

850 buddy

Make sure that the ventilation mode isn't set at "REC"-recirculation mode; turn the REC mode off or set it at fresh outside air. Refer to the owner's manual as I am not privy to XC70.

If it's at REC, the air will keep recirculating within the cabin and the moisture is there to stay no matter what. If, however, it is not at REC, then the cause of fog up is beyond my knowledge.
