I have a 2007 S40 and am considering purchasing a Dice with VIDA but am wondering if this can be used to also scan other non-volvo vehicles' check engine information and to diagnose their problems. As I understand it, the DICE is the interface and wouldn't expect the VIDA to useful for this but is the DICE unit sufficient to do this on its own or would I need another software package that would work with the DICE and car's computer? I have been spending several hours researching threads from this as well as several other sites and have found no reference to this use. Kind of surprised. Thanks in advance.

 

No, it is for 99 and newer Volvos only.
