Engine bogging down in hot weather
I had this problem last year when temps got up to around 100degreesF. The engine, after going down the freeway in stop and go traffic, started severely bogging down and eventually wouldn't run. Had to pull over and let it cool before continuing. The temp gauge was normal and no codes. Had a few recommendations; plugs, fuel filter, fuel pump, and fuel pump relay. Changed plugs and filter since they were overdue anyway. Then changed relay...thought I had it fixed, although the temps never got that high again for the summer. Now, a couple of days ago, I got stuck at a couple of lights, temps around 93degreesF and it did it again, though not as severe. Once I got moving again down the highway and airflow cooled things again, it ran OK. Runs fine in cooler weather. Any thoughts? I'm driving a 93 850 GLT.
