Hi I’ve recently replaced my 2008 Volvo S80 3.2L’s stock halogen low beams with LED low beams and keep getting a bulb failure message on the main instrument panel. The lights work perfectly fine, i don’t understand why it’s saying this.

Info: bulbs were replaced with “forenner Fahren H11 LED Headlight Bulbs, 12000 Lumens” on amazon.

 

The bulb out system "knows" how much current your halogen bulbs use. The LEDs use less current - so the bulb out system thinks a or both bulbs are out. Some have rigged resisters to fool the bulb out system into thinking more current is being used.
