getting hold of Volvo OEM paint
Astonished that 20 pages of forum search turned up no mention of ‘paint!’ 
Can it be that gear heads are so focused on the mechanistics that they are prepared to let the exterior rot?
Does anyone know a good source for obtaining Volvo OEM paint? In my own case it is only a question of a few small spots, so scarcely worth taking her in for a full-on paint job.
When people buy a new home with an unusual colour, they are often given a container for touch-ups. They should do this with cars too.

Not sure where you are looking but there are several mentions of paint in this site. There was a question today about it.
That's the code and like any other car, you can get the touch up paint from the dealer.

Thanks for the answer. I suppose that your linked image depicts the data line recording the paint colour code. This puts the cart before the horse. Knowing the precise colour ID is not particularly relevant if I cannot locate a source selling it.
I conducted my 20-p search in the section ‘General Volvo Chat.’ Employing the control F command, input the painfully obvious word ‘paint.’ If members have created several threads discussing this topic, they can only be avoiding the word ‘paint’ in the titles. Perhaps you know of a more reliable search method?
Apparently I cannot get touch-up paint from the dealer. The only explanation for being blown off must be that they are doing so well that they can afford to disregard clients whose transactions are not likely to rise to 3 digits. The next junk mail I get from these bastards is going to be registered for filtration.
