Cool Give the old 940gl a bit more power.

Well I think my 1992 940gl is close to to being on its last leg. So instead of buying a new car to drive daily since I do not want to put a tun of miles on my 262c. I had the idea of either putting in a inline mercedes 6 cylinder in the car, which i have decided not to do because of the expenses. My second idea was to put in a new 4 cylinder engine like the 2.3 L 162 hp I4 (B230FT).. my question is do the B230FT engines have different transmissions from the B230F? I would like to be pushing at least 200 horse power. Do you guys have any ideas as to what i could do? I want to try to not spend of 3,000$ which i think may be enough. Should I be ok with the suspension that I currently have in my 1992 940GL?

Besides using an inline 4 cylinder, would a 5 cylinder engine and transmission fit in a 940gl?

thanks

All of the 5 cylinder Volvo set ups are FWD. I would suggest selling the 940 and finding a turbo car, like a '95 850 T-5. It would be cheaper and less hastle.

Other than that, TurboBricks.com or SweedSpeed.com may be a better place to post the questions.
