Glass or Plastic headlights?
I'm wanting to clean my headlight assembly as there's stains and grime that regular windex is not cleaning. I would like to polish them but there seems to be 2 different kinds, one for glass and the other for plastics. The ones for glass MUST not be used on plastics or acrylics, so I just want to make sure. They sure feel like glass to me though.
Greetings from Yokohama, Japan.
Try scribing hidden part of the lens with a sharp object and see if it gets scratched. If it does, the lens is plastic.
For scratch removal, try fine-gradepolishing compound. It may take several applications. If this does not improve, you may have to replace the lens.
Good luck,
JPN

I have used a stick of Dico buffing compound on composite headlights with great results. It is similar to a fat crayon. Just coat the lens as though you are coloring in a coloring book and buff the lens by hand with a cotton cloth or use a buffing tool and it will take all of the cloudiness away and leave your lens looking like new glass ( even if it is plastic).
