Default A little insight please!?

Hey Everyone! I just bought a brand new 2007 Volvo s60 and i am in love with it.

Now, here's the little problem that i dont really understand. Yesterday i was starting to wash the car, and i looked at the bottom of the front bumper and it looks like it was like... scratched on something?

As if someone ran into a curb and the curb went under the car i guess?

It's all scratched up, and i have absoluteley no recolection of doing it. Could i have bought the car this way off of the dealership floor?

I have no idea what to think or do!

You cannot tell by looking at it that anything is scratched on the bottom, but then again at the same time, i have no recolection of ever running into anything. Actually i am POSITIVE that i didnt run into anything. You cannot see the scratches from the front of the car or when looking at it. You can only see them when you're looking at the bottom of the front bumper. What should i do!?

Please lemme know!

It could have happened on one of those parking bumper things at the dealership. My front grill is low..and I have to be very careful..I have caught it a few times and scraped it...the previous owner caught it so hard he ripped the bumper off of the car.....will it cause rust...or is it just cosmetic?

I responded to this yesterday, but my response is not here. The bottom line is you just get used to the front spoiler getting scratched and nicked. I just got done totally refinishing mine on the yellow 95, and it's marked up again.

It's purely cosmetic. Nothing bad at all. I'm just pissed because it's my first new car! Ya know!?

Check out this before and after on mine. On the before you may have to zoom in to see just how bad it was, but I'm pretty happy with the after. Took me several days to get it done. Totally took of like three to five layers of paint, primered it two coats with wet sanding in between and after, followed by three coats of yellow with wet sanding between coats and two coats of clear coat with very light wet sanding between the two coats.

Here is the before:

Here is the after:

When I bought my 2006 V70, I looked under it before I signed off and took delivery, I saw that someone had put a dent in the subframe between the time I put the deposit on it and when I came to take delivery, I refused to accept the car, and refused to take another car (wife wanted willow green and nothing else) They sent a flunkie down to NJ to pick up a new subframe that afternoon and it was replaced and re-aligned by noon the next day.
