Default Methanol/Water Injection System???

High Everyone!!??
Has anyone ever used a methanol/water injection system on their Volvo turbo? I have a friend who owns a GMC Syclone. He has been checking their forums and it appears that the system makes a noticable difference. What kind of risks are involved by using this type of modification? I had never heard of it until my friend brought it up today. I would love any input I can get.

Thaks For The Help,
Swish

In 1962, Oldsmobile produced the Jet fire which was a turbo F-85. Chevrolet also brought out in 1962, the Corvair Spyder which had a 150 h.p. turbo fed by a single Carter y side draft carb. I owned new, both of those autos. The Oldsmobile used water injection in its small v8. It was a crude system but not only blasted the carbon.............which was the bane of the early turbos, but also cooled the charge. So............what you are now seeing is a revival of the past................but today it is done with a computer and in a more sophisticated manner. I know that BMW mavens are using the set up and agree that it is inexpensive performance.

The Aquamist systems @ partsforvolvosonline.com look like decent products. Has anyone had any experience with them?
