The Volvo dealership in Fort Meyers, Florida, said one of my motor mounts is worn and should be replaced. I searched the archives, but it seems like all the motor mounts replacements were on older cars with higher miles. My 2016 XC70 has 60,000 fairly easy highway miles. Is this a issue on this vehicle? Does one particular mount generally wear first? Thanks.

 

I would agree that 60K miles is pretty low for a motor mount to fail. there are several mounts and different ones take more of the brunt but still its not that common an issue. Did they mention which one and what's their definition of "worn"? Have you noticed any odd vibrations noises or excessive movement of the engine or did the tech simply do a visual inspection? If you have no symptoms you can drive for a bit and listen/feel if anything is odd or perhaps have a separate inspection done at a different shop. But if its broken you don't want to wait to get it fixed as it can lead to damaging the other mounts or components.
