I'm in the process of buying another car being my 92 240 was totaled.

I've got it narrowed down to three,

1989 volvo 240 DL, 180k miles, seller says it runs and drives great. Looks perfect inside, has smell dent on hood and broken tailight lens. Wants $2,300. 1989 Volvo 240 DL

Other is a 1992 Volvo 940 GL 4 door sedan, 165k miles, 2.3L 4cyl, leather, slide sunroof. Seller says it has had no mechanical problems and been his daily driver. says it has a few dings and dents but looks great from the exterior picture. Wants $1,450. 1992 Volvo 940 GL

Last is a 1998 Volvo v70 wagon base model, 128k miles 5cyl, leather, moon roof. From a dealership, they want $3,295. ►1998 Volvo V70 Base 128,310 miles Auto►

I'm really more interested in the first two as i have $2,700 to spend and because i like the older models, but the wagon would be way more accommodating to my road trip cargo needs.

So basically i need to know: What are the common problems on each of these cars? Also, what are things I should look for on each of them when I go and view them today? What are good questions to ask the sellers as well? Are these prices fair? (I know the 89 240 is well overpriced so I'll be talking him down) But the 940 seems to be very fairly priced, a little below its blue book value, and the v70 is pretty much priced at its blue book 2nd to best price.

I have general idea of the common problems, what to look for as I've been searching Google all day and night but it has been pretty vague. So any information would be greatly appreciated!
