Default New here just a quick question!

On Wednesday, I am getting my very first 2001 Volvo V40. Its got the T4 Turbo with the manual transmission.

My concern is that it has 185K on it for the mileage. I was wondering how long does this car usually last? My mum in law drives a Mercedes and she is well above this and her car is doing relatively strong but I do periodically work on it to keep the kinks out.

Also what would be some things to look into to i dont know to know if something is coming up on failing. Or a noticeable sign it may fail soon. I work on jets in the US Marines and there is not to much preventive maintenance we do but if I can do something small on this from time to time it would be great to give my V40 a longer life.

If the car comes to you reasonably maintained, you could expect another 100 thousand miles out of it. You're coming up on another timing belt replacement, shocks, rubber suspension goods as well as the normal wear and tear items.
