After removing the passenger seat due to flooding (front sunroof drains not connected), I am left with the SRS Airbag Urgent notification. I understand some notices are not re-settable using simple OBD2 readers (70$)? I bought a Volvo-Saab-BMW compatible code reader (iCardsoft Vol2). Should this be able to clear an Urgent Code notification or do I need to go to a Volvo dealership?

really depends if your code reader supports the SRS code set. Some do. ref
If not, before running to the dealer check if Autozone et al have a scanner that supports SRS codes - you may also find an indy shop who will scan/clear for free w/o questions (mine does). As with any code: view, copy. clear. If something is truly wrong, the code will reset.
