Default Obtaining a parts car...

I have a 1992 Volvo 240 wagon, and I've contemplated getting a parts car for it. A sedan would be alright. What would you recommend doing?
Thanks,
Evan

I bought a parts car last summer. I was clueless about what I needed to know and how to go about doing everything right. I found the car on Craigslist and called the guy up. He was a dealer just looking to get a little more than scrap metal value out of it. It was a running car but just to be safe I paid him to tow it back to my house. He told me I could call up any scrap yard or recycler and they would take it off my hands. You will need to have a title in order to get rid of it.

Ah... what was wrong with it? Haha to be honest if I bought one that was still in drivable order I'd probably fix it up and keep it depending on its problem. I get *slightly* attached to unique cars.

The guy that owned the car previously mistreated the vehicle. The engine looked neglected and the flame trap appeared clogged. The interior (which was one of the perks) was actually water damaged in a few locations, which was not easy to tell when I first looked at it considering it was still full of junk. Then of course the damage to nearly every body panel, busted rear windshield and tail lights, and bumper was gone. I wanted it for the fuel pump which I needed and the interior, which I left. Other parts I grabbed were the DIM, radio, climate control, steering wheel, airbag (in case), turn signal lever, fog light setup, and wheels. I sold off the roof rack as well. True parts car.

Perfect parts car... see if i bought one it'd have to be a total piece of crap so I wouldn't mind dismantling it. Haha
