Openning fuel door when power out

Default Openning fuel door when power out
2006 xc70 with power door locks/fuel door not working. need gas. Is there a way to manually open the fuel door on these models, other than forcing it open?

2006 volvo xc70, power locks, tailgate, fuel door all out and in locked position. Is there a way to manually open tailgate from inside...(to get to battery easier)

My understanding is to unlock front doors with the key, crawl into the back and remove the R. side cargo panel. Then you can open the fuel door by unlatching the lock from inside. See here:
