Default S40 '08 Starting Engine

Hi all
Does the clutch pedal have to be fully depressed when starting a 07/08 model S40 1.8 flexifuel 5 speed manual gearbox? There is only E85 Bio Ethanol in the tank.

Many thanks

When I was taught to drive in the 1960s I was always told to fully depress the clutch pedal as a safety precaution against the car being in gear.

When I became a driving instructor I always taught the same.

I don't think thetype of fuel makes any difference.

Yes you do, There is a safety switch that won't let the car start without the clutch pedal being fully depressed. Read your owners manual .
