Overheating
ok just a quik question, i have an s 2002 80 t6. my radiator fan isnt turning on when its suppose to and the gauge inside the car reads normal even when it is overheating. i relpaced the fan assembly and the problem exist. can you tell me where exactly the cooling tempeture senser is on my car. where can i find a diagram of this.
Actually, the sensor in the bottom of the coolant reservoir is the coolant level sensor. The engine coolant temperature sensor (or ECT sensor) is behind the timing cover. Its in a very difficult location as far as replacement goes. However, I'm not convinced that is the problem. The trouble codes should be read to see if there is a fault in the electric/electronic system. It is possible that you need a thermostat or ECT sensor but get the codes read first. I assume the check engine light is not on. Also, what is the car doing to make you think its overheating?
