86 240DL radiator overheating. Need help
Every now and then the temp gauge rises to just below the red line; at which point I turn on the heater and it goes back down. I have not noticed when this happens but it is sporadic. The coolant was flushed 6 weeks ago when I bought the car so that should be OK, and it has not been hot here. Any ideas as to the most likely problem? and how to solve?
Thanks

It controls Voltage to the Temp Guage.
The only way I know of to check is to bypass it and see if it still does it.
You will need to remove the speedometer cluster and then remove the Compensation board and Jump pins 1 and 3 with a piece of wire.
