Default Please Help, getting water in top of window....

I have a 1999 V70 GLT Wagon, and when it rains, a couple of things related to rain water are happening. I have owned all sorts of cars over the last 30 years, and have NEVER had this problem. Please feel free to give your comments, ideas, suggestions, or opinions. When it rains (and I am not talking hard, and straight on), even if I crack the windows 1/4" or 1/2 ", the water comes straight down into the inside of the door (and the electric controls are there, not good!). When I open the door to get in, or get out, a steady stream of water comes straight to the inside of the car. It seems to me that the water would or should be channeled somewhat away?? But that does not seem to be the case here. Am I missing something here? I did notice that there is a 1/4" threaded hole on the top inside ledge of the door opening. Does anyone know what this is for? Thanks, TrouperL
