Seriously looking at 2004 XC70 California Car. I live in Lexington, Kentucky where no smog/pollution testing or local requirements exist. Will the California XC have extra pollution controls not needed here in KY. If so can they be removed? I drive the Appalachian Mountains for work and don't want any unneeded mileage restrictors. Please advise. Thank You

 

The Volvo engineers really think it's worth saving the enviorment. I would think that all of the cars in the US have the same equipment. I think that the state of CA is more serious about making sure the stuff is in tune, works properly. Should not have additional equipment.
