My V50's Check engine light came on and so i took it to the dealer.
They told me that my Pollution Control Box (PCB) and Engine mount was broken.

What is a PCB? I tried googling it and didn't find anything of that sort. Is this a Real item or is the dealer trying to shaft me? They also told me that the repair for the part was $ 550.

I can only assume that they meant a component within the PCV system. In the case of 850, there is a box within the PCV system (oil trap). If it were not fora PCV component, the dealer personnel has had too much boos and was confused whatever the box with the catalytic converter. If he/she was creative, the cat looked like a box. Or, did they refer to the charcoal canister? I think I am confused too.

So i have read about PCV, and it does sound like the cause for the problem of my car, However the service rep told me it was PCB Pollution Control Box, and so its either he got confused or he dosn't know his stuff or trying to scam me. Apparently the dealer i went to Culver City Volvo is known for Bad service and high prices. Too bad i found this out only after doing some research yesterday T_T
